Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a diverse team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Oversee all aspects of design engineering to support organizational objectives.
- Provide technical guidance to internal teams and external stakeholders, including customer engagement and trend analysis.
- Manage complex design projects, ensuring alignment with program objectives, cost, and schedule requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes, systems, and product quality.
- Maintain personnel authority over the Engineering organization, including hiring, performance appraisals, and compensation decisions.
- Collaborate with business leadership to develop technical presentations, budget estimates, and schedules for new initiatives.
- Facilitate ongoing talent development within the team to remain updated with industry advancements.
- Responsible for project status updates, manpower estimates, budget management, and employee training initiatives.
What you need for this position:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (EE, ME, CS, ChE) required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of Engineering Management experience in regulated industries.
- Demonstrated experience leading a technical team in the development of new products in a highly regulated industry.
- Demonstrated technical proficiency in power systems, electronic design, and software development processes.
- Strong familiarity with relevant standards and regulations.
- Proven track record in product development lifecycle management, including program management responsibilities.
- Ability to motivate and lead teams to achieve program objectives and business targets.
- Experience in writing technical proposals and estimates to support new initiatives.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective team leadership and management interaction.
- Proficiency in co-designing with Operations teams to address design for manufacture (DFM) issues.
- Strong integrity and adherence to company policies and procedures, with the ability to present complex technical information effectively.
- Experience managing obsolescence issues and driving successful continuous improvement programs.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for business needs.
- Growth potential beyond this level of position.
