Minimum qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree, or equivalent practical experience.
+ 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).
+ 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role; overseeing strategic projects, with 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
+ Experience with front-end system design and system architecture.
+ Experience in developing software applications using TypeScript.
Preferred qualifications:
+ Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
+ 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
+ Experience with Angular.
+ Experience with data visualization.

With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally.
The Cloud Design System team is responsible for creating and enriching the components, patterns, and best practices that comprise the Google Cloud Design System. This system enables the world's largest Angular application - the Google Cloud Console.
As an Engineering Manager, you'll drive long-lasting, sustainable improvements to the accessibility of the library, set development best practices across the Console, and drive the data visualization capabilities required to support our AI assistant.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000-$284,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. + Set and communicate team priorities that support the broader organization's goals. Align strategy, processes, and decision-making across teams.
+ Set clear expectations with individuals based on their level and role and aligned to the broader organization's goals. Meet regularly with individuals to discuss performance and development and provide feedback and coaching.
+ Ensure the Cloud Console is compliant with modern accessibility standards and regulations through continuous improvement of the Cloud Design System.
+ Build and maintain healthy cross-functional relationships with UX, Product Management, and Technical Program Management.
+ Build and maintain a healthy relationship with the GCP developer community (2000 internal developers).
