Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage engineering teams responsible for the development and production of exterior trim components, ensuring adherence to quality, cost, and timing objectives.
- Utilize CATIA extensively for design and engineering activities, demonstrating proficiency and providing guidance to team members.
- Manage and coordinate global teams across various time zones, fostering collaboration and effective communication.
- Hands-on involvement in design activities, from initial concept development through validation and production launch.
- Travel globally for extended periods (up to 3 weeks at a time) to support project activities, supplier visits, and team coordination.
- Apply strong injection molding knowledge, including Moldflow analysis, CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering), and FEA (Finite Element Analysis), to optimize part design and manufacturing processes.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Design, Quality, Manufacturing, and Purchasing to achieve project milestones and objectives.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities for engineering team members.
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive project status reports, presentations, and technical documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in engineering management within the automotive industry, focusing on exterior trim components.
- Expertise in CATIA software for 3D modeling, design, and analysis.
- Strong understanding of injection molding processes, Moldflow analysis, CAE, and FEA.
- Demonstrated ability to manage global teams effectively, with experience in coordinating activities across multiple time zones.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, stressful environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism and leadership.
- Hands-on experience in product development from concept to launch, with a track record of successful project delivery.
- Willingness to travel internationally for extended periods as required.
