About the Job
Summary Directs LISI Aerospace Fastener Division Engineering Department in all areas including but not limited to new product development, design validation, project/program management, product qualification and qualification retention.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Manages and oversees the daily function of the Engineering Department
- Leads and develops product engineers, metallurgist and other associated employees.
- Manages, delegates, and plans the workload
- Oversees the action plan for each area and is ultimately responsible for ensuring deadlines and commitment to internal and external customers are met
- Interfaces with internal and external customers to provide information on current projects and products.
- Interface with other company functions, e.g. Manufacturing and Quality Assurance to facilitate production assuring product integrity and honoring customer delivery requirements.
- Resolves engineering related problems using new techniques, technologies, or concepts.
- Analyzes technology trends, human resource needs, and market demand to plan projects.
- Actively participates in LISI Aerospace Global Engineering committees and teams
- Expensive travel may be required (national and international) to solve and analyze customer requirements and/or product issues
- Confers with management, production, and marketing staff to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products.
- Forecasts operating costs of department and provides necessary information for budget requests.
- Provides timely communication to management and internal/external customers on new developments, which may affect profit, schedule, costs, customer relations, and/or inter-departmental relations.
- Maintains a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly or indirectly responsible for the performance of all direct reports. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include, but not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing concerns and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering from and accredited four-year University or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five or more years Design Engineering/ Project management or Product Engineering in a high volume environment
- Leadership experience or equivalent transferable experience a plus
- Fastener experience preferred but not required

Salary: $100,000-$135,0000
Schedule: 4/9+4 (Monday - Thursday is 9 hours and Friday is a 4 hour half day).
