Title: Building Engineer (Onsite)
Location: 4722 Pear St E Saint Joseph MO 64502
Duration: 6-12 Months Contract (Contract to Hire)
Timings: M-F: 7AM-6PM
Pay Rate : $31/hr. Paid weekly without benefits
Position Summary:
Building Engineer is responsible for leading all aspects of designing, maintaining, and repairing a building's complex systems. They work to ensure that the building's mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems operate efficiently, safely, and effectively. The building engineers must keep up to date with regulatory requirements and safety standards and work closely with building owners and managers to ensure compliance. Overall, the role of a senior building engineer is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of a building's essential systems.
Must Haves:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and five or more years of demonstrated ability in building management.
Nice To Have:
- Universal CFC certification required. Additional certification in one or more of the following: electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry or engine repair. Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions
- Forklift experience
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills. Efficient, reliable, and courteous customer service. Effective information presentation.
- Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles and to understand operating budgets. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts basic financial analysis.
- Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents.
Responsibilities:
- Follows all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.
Operates, maintains, monitors, and performs preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on building equipment, which may include mechanical/plumbing systems, electrical/cabling, fire detection and suppression, life safety, lighting, temperature control systems, building management systems, and digital systems. - Maintains the building lighting system, including element and ballast repairs or replacements
Prepares estimates detailing the amount of time and materials needed for completing tasks. Maintains adequate supplies and tools and orders necessary materials to finish the tasks. - Maintains an energy management program.
- Oversees and inspects the work performed by outside contractors. Contracted work may include landscaping, snow removal, remodeling, plumbing, and cleaning.
- Performs work in compliance with standard operating procedures and/or critical work packages, and maintenance work instructions.
