About the Job
CALIBRE Systems Inc., and employee-owned Management Consulting and Digital Transformation company, is looking for a Engineering Lead. This position will be on-site in Arlington, VA. This position will also require an Active Secret Security Clearance.
As the Lead Engineer shall manage all technical design efforts for implementing or improving IT services and support for the Army National Guard (ARNG) National Guard Bureau (NGB) National Capital Region (NCR) Network Enterprise Center (NEC) IT Support Services contract. This role is critical in driving the development of optimized IT solutions that enhance operational efficiencies and reduce total cost of ownership (TCO). Experience with the National Guard and/or defense-related programs is strongly preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Design and implement Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions that meet mission-critical requirements.
• Develop and execute strategies to improve IT systems' operational efficiency and reduce TCO.
• Ensure technical designs align with DoD standards and cybersecurity requirements, including compliance with IAT/IAM Level III certifications.
• Collaborate with program managers, network engineers, and cybersecurity teams to integrate and improve IT service delivery.
• Provide technical oversight and expertise in the planning, development, and deployment of IT solutions.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, ensuring alignment with the task order's requirements
Required Skills
- A minimum of five years of experience engineering IT solutions that deliver operational efficiencies and TCO improvements in an environment similar to the task order.
- A relevant educational degree in fields such as Information Technology, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Experience supporting National Guard or defense-related programs.
- Hands-on work experience on at least one Service Management tools like BMC Remedy, BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, HPSM or any other equivalent industry standard ITSM tool.
- Strong analytical, communication, presentation and documentation skills.
- Good client-interfacing skills, Customer and service focused approach.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Power Point and MS Visio.

- Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II or IAM Level III.
- ITIL Foundation Level Certification. IAT Level III (CASP CE, CCNP, CISA, or CISSP (or associate) IAM Level III CISM, CISSP (or associate) or CCISO
- A minimum of five years of experience managing network services to include LAN and VTC experience.
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in one of the following areas: Computer Science, Information Systems, IT, Cybersecurity, Statistics, Business Administration, Systems Engineering, Computation Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Analytics, Information Security and Assurance, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or Telecommunications.
- ITIL Foundation Level Certification.
- A minimum of five years of experience designing and optimizing a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment like ARNG NGB NCR NEC.
