The successful candidate will p rovide supervisor support for a team of developmental engineers focused on tissue making operations throughout Georgia Pacific's North America facilities. This role does require domestic travel on a regular basis and does not require relocation.
Our Team
Georgia-Pacific is recruiting for a Supervisor - Engineering Development to join our continuous manufacturing group, part of the corporate central capability group.
What You Will Do
- Cultural and professional development of direct reports under the PBM® philosophy
- Partner with Learning & Development team as well as internal subject matter experts to ensure learning content is prepared and updated as needed.
- Provide leadership/mentorship to a group of early career engineers as they develop the skills to be successful in an operations role.
- Manage the training schedule and work experience plans for the group of developmental engineers.
- Have regular interaction with various mill development leaders to integrate with local efforts
- Maintain strong connection to Tissue COE(Center Of Excellence) Director, COE Manager, ACO(Assett Center Owner) and other central capability teams to coordinate on strategic and tactical opportunities for development.
- Provide guidance to Learning & Development and other resources on additional support needs
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- 5 years of experience in manufacturing role(s) supporting paper making operations
- Knowledge and expertise in one or more specific paper making equipment and process areas: drying systems, wet end operations, stock preparation, controls and winder/roll handling
- Able to read and interpret piping and instrumentation diagram ( P&ID's), layout drawings, and mechanical drawings
- Competency with Microsoft Office Suite; Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
- Willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time
- Willing and able to work in operating environments that include platforms and catwalks, elevated temperatures, and variable humidity levels
- Willing and able to work occasional weekends, nights, and holidays when needed
What Will Put You Ahead
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Pulp and Paper Science or Technical degree
- Small group supervisory experience
- Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, communicate with, and mentor others in a manufacturing environment
For this role, we anticipate paying $120K - $150K per year.
