JOB SUMMARY:
Serve as the department's liaison for internal and interdepartmental communications, analyzing engineering and operations data, and developing actionable steps for high-quality business outputs.. Create and maintain comprehensive reports, including data analysis and other relevant information to improve business functions, maintain budget requirements, and foster strong relationships between various departments across the enterprise. Gain an in-depth understanding of strategies and services where business analytics can be applied. Provide technical support to Field Engineering personnel to maintain a high level of productivity.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform research and analysis regarding a vast array of engineering work orders and projects to recommend biannual aid to construction cost adjustments.
- Assist departmental supervision with implementing appropriate project plans in alignment with approved charters and Executive direction.
- Communicate routinely with enterprise provider and/or internal personnel to ensure projects are supported and implemented utilizing the enterprise system in accordance with project requirements.
- Serve as departmental liaison for workflow and procedural processes. Document discussions, outcomes, decisions, new deliverables, and processes.
- Create and oversee street and private light databases.
- Maintain databases related to annual system pole inspection program.
- Review and update NISC assembly labor costs used in construction estimates.
- Prepare RFP/RFQ documents and requisitions for projects, services and materials.
- Process applications for pole attachments.
- Prepare, track, and process documentation related to joint-use make-ready projects.
- Process and track annual fees such as railroad crossings and national forest.
- Participate in departmental telephone workgroup for incoming call coverage.
- Schedule customer appointments for Field Engineering personnel.
- Prepare and maintain project spreadsheets and databases.
- Process right-of-way easement documents.
- Be a point of integration, support supervision in adoption and usage of departmental processes, including close collaboration with IT, Customer Service, Accounting, Service, Construction, and AMI.
- Ability to maintain reliable, predictable, and reasonable attendance.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create requisitions for office supplies and equipment.
- Must maintain a valid driver's license from state of residence.
- Assists customers and other BrightRidge departments as required.
- Represents BrightRidge in court, as needed.
- Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
- Must be available for after-hours work, which would include working a fair share of all necessary overtime.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Must have knowledge of electrical power line materials and units.
- Must have knowledge of system's service area, policies, and procedures.
- Must be able to read and interpret construction work orders.
- Must be able to analyze and triage complex issues.
- Have working knowledge of NISC, Access, Excel, and service territory to be able to enter, process, and evaluate engineering data.
- Must possess advanced PC skills including Microsoft Windows and Office.
- Possess effective communication skills.
- Must have strong mathematical and organizational skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work requires constant sitting, handling, fingering, feeling, fine manipulation, vision, hearing, talking, and arm/hand use for machine control operation. Frequent reaching is required. Must occasionally lift up to 41 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
90% of work is performed in an indoor climate-controlled office environment with appropriate lighting. The remaining 10% of work is done outside in varying weather conditions while ambulating on uneven terrain.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 2-year associate degree in a related Computer Science or Technology field desired.
- Highly proficient in NISC and databases
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a Utility Engineering environment is desired.
