Position Overview
Join the Building & Grounds Department as a Building Engineer I, a key role in maintaining and enhancing our campus. Reporting to the Chief Building Engineer, you will ensure that all building systems, from heating and cooling to electrical and structural components, are functional and reliable.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance and respond promptly to building-related issues.

Operate and maintain critical systems, including boilers, chillers, and HVAC.

Complete work orders efficiently using our computerized maintenance system (CMS).

Maintain mechanical rooms and equipment to high professional standards.

Monitor and maintain pool water chemistry.

Conduct inspections and document findings for equipment functionality.

Manage inventory and order parts and supplies as needed.
Support all departments with timely repairs and work requests.
Education and/or Experience
Required:
-
High school diploma or equivalent.
-
State of Minnesota Class 2C or 2B Boiler Operator’s License.

Universal Refrigeration License.
-
Certified Pool and Spa Operator (CPO).
-
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in building maintenance and HVAC in large facilities.

Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders and working in confined spaces.

Availability for occasional after-hours emergency calls.
Preferred:
-
Completion of a vocational course in Building Maintenance, HVAC, or related field.

Journeyman Electrical License.
Must perform the following essential functions with or without a reasonable accommodation:

Ability to lift and carry 100 lbs on a routine basis

Climb ladders to 20 feet

Use of hands for repetitive use, such as: grasping, fine manipulation

Operate man lift up to 36’

Bending stooping, twisting, crouching, pushing, pulling, reaching, grabbing, and crawling in confined places

Ability to pass a pre-offer Physical Fitness Test.

After hours call availability for emergency building requests, on average 1-2 times per month

Computer proficiency in email, Microsoft Office Suite, and facilities management systems.
