Who We Are:
Our team is resonsible for Design Engineering, Procurement, and construction of various scale pilot plants. Join us to fill a role in design and construction of pilot plants.
Objectives of this Role:
- This position will fill a role in design and construction of multi-floor pilot plants.
- Use SolidWorks PRO to build designs and detail plans for quick turnaround pilot plants.
- Analyze and evaluate and stress related issues to current and new builds.
- Support operations for pilot plants for process development by expanding our technical portfolio of offerings to our clients.
- Be leader in operations training, procurement, and inventory control for process development and pilot plants, with expertise in technical areas of the research.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Design processes or unit operations for chemical or refinery systems using Solidworks PRO. Plan and conduct research and process development work. Expand area of expertise (ideally decarbonization, pyrolysis, batch/CSTR kinetics, biomass conversion).
- Perform Pipe Stress Analysis using CAD simulations and hand calculations. Must be able to explain the results.
- Create construction plans to ensure the project build is on time and within budget.
- Oversee process integration from design phase to installation for small- and large-scale pilot plant projects.
- Communicate with vendors, clients, and operators to set up equipment and construct systems for new processes.
- Promote and secure new work as trained through mentorship and internal business development training.
Requirements:
- Requires an Bachelors or a Masters Mechanical Engineering
- Shift work required.
- 1-5 years: Direct experience with chemical and mechanical engineering process development work (developing Excel spreadsheets for mechanical engineering calculations) to include designing and installation of process equipment.
- High attention to detail in calculations, design, and operations.
- Must be able to develop CAD models, perform stress analysis, and produce detailed fabrication drawings.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and interface with clients or potential clients as needed during the project or proposal process.
- Must be able to conduct tasks in parallel.
- Experience in any of the following areas: biomass conversion, biofuels, hydrotreating, carbon capture, carbon utilization, plastics recycling, pyrolysis, coking, distillation, electrolysis, clean hydrogen.
- A valid/clear driver's license is required.
Special Requirements:
Must be a U.S. person (i.e., U.S. citizen, non-U.S. citizen national, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee) due to ITAR work in section.
