The Durst Organization is seeking an Engineer for the following work schedule: Sunday-Thursday from 7:00am-3:00pm (days off Friday and Saturday).
This position is a Local 94 union position and will be based at One World Trade Center.
Salary Range: $44.96-$49.96 per hour.
Responsibilities:- In a safe manner, start up, regulate, repair and shut down equipment
- Ensure equipment operates safely and within established limits by monitoring attached meters, gauges and computerized controls
- Use of hand and power tools to perform repairs and maintenance ranging from a complete overhaul to replacing defective valves, gaskets or bearings in a safe manner
- Record relevant events and facts concerning operation and maintenance in an equipment log
- Audit safety device and identify and troubleshoot any problem areas
- Test and chemically treat hydronic systems to prevent corrosion and harmful deposits
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned
- Minimum 3–5 years as operating engineer in Class A high-rise commercial building
- Minimum of 3-5 years of electrical experience that encompasses troubleshooting, reading schematics and wiring diagrams. Must possess ability to utilize analytic tools such as IR scanners, digital meters, and refrigerant gauges
- Must be knowledgeable of multi- stage direct expansion (DX) water cooled packaged A/C units and modular chiller systems
- Proficient in all aspects of pumping systems, steam heating systems, generator systems, automatic transfer switches, diesel fuel transfer systems, electrical systems, fire suppression systems and high-rise plumbing systems
- Must be knowledgeable of Schneider Electric Andover Continuum BATC system or its equivalent BMS and possess advanced knowledge of start-up procedures
- Possess the ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems in a timely manner
- Physical ability to climb ladders and lift up to 75 lbs. on a regular basis, enter and operate in confined spaces, operate power tools
- Ability to work with exposure to elements such as odor, noise, dust, heat, cold, or chemicals
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- Valid New York City Fire Department Refrigeration Machine Operator License with a minimum of 3–5 years continuous experience in the industry
- Will be required to obtain several COF’s: A-35, F-01, P-98, G-60, S-12, S-14
- Site access requires completion of OSHA Construction Safety & Health Course (10 hours)
