Job Description:
We are seeking Structural Engineers or Architects to join our façade team focusing on façade renovations and inspections, historic preservation, LL11/FISP inspections, and roofing/waterproofing. The position involves extensive field work and client contact. The successful applicant is dedicated to client-centered service, a naturally organized person, and works well with others in our highly collaborative environment.
This position's primary activities are performed under the direction of the project team leader and is focused on the implementation of project directives.
- Willingness to work on roofs and facades utilizing contractor's suspended scaffolding. Certified SPRAT preferred.
- Perform site visits to observe and document façade deterioration.
- Assist team in producing working plans, diagrams, and construction documents.
- Attend project meetings.
- Review shop drawings and submittals.
- Observe and document the progress and quality of contractor work based on guidelines set forth by the project team leader and write inspection reports.
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum) with a concentration in Architecture, Civil or Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with façade repair and restoration. New grads welcome also!
- Experience working in NYC with knowledge of LL11/FISP and NYC Building Codes is a plus.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Willingness to ride suspended scaffolds.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work well with others.
