Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Walking, climbing, bending, and crawling when visiting watercraft or construction sites during all periods of normal seasonal weather (dry, wet, and frozen precipitation) in ambient air temperatures ranging from 0 degrees F to 105 degrees F without conditioned air onboard the boats and watercraft required.
Hazardous Duty:
Incumbent is occasionally exposed to the hazard of operating in/or riding in or maintaining boats and small craft; operating in protected/unprotected (open seaways) waters in both day/night operations. Incumbent is occasionally exposed to the hazards that exist at construction sites, piers, marinas, waterfront areas, shipyards, boatyards and industrial areas. Hazards are mitigated through use of safety equip.

- You will serve as the subject matter expert (SME) to Combatant Craft Division's Test and Evaluation Branch, contributing to mission, goals and objectives in support of Carderock's strategic plan and initiatives.
- You will be a critical asset of the Branch, using innovative thinking and resourcefulness to solve problems and adapt to changing technology, missions, and priorities.
- You will be required to deploy Test and Evaluation capability with the necessary talent and bench strength to deliver affordable, optimized, mission-effective data, results and information to Fleet and requisite stakeholders.
- You will apply advanced scientific and engineering concepts, principles and experience and leads research, technology development, acquisition, and in-service support for the Test and Evaluation of craft, autonomous craft, and associated systems.
- You will determine the plan of attack and direction of Test and Evaluation work; and makes recommendations for new work or stopping of work or major changes to objectives are accepted based on resources, effect on mission, and manpower.
- Your advice and findings are accepted as authoritative and conclusive in the field and work is of fundamental significant in the field of Test and Evaluation.
