Manufacturing Engineer – Youngstown, Ohio #24-00151
Salary Range: $95K - $110K this is a Full Time Position with Benefits
Youngstown area manufacturer is seeking an Engineer who will plan, design, set up, modify, optimize, and monitor manufacturing processes to enhance safety, quality, and productivity. This person will also manage capacity addition, process improvement, and/or equipment replacement projects including project scope, costing, business case development, resource planning, timeline, and execution.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Follows all environmental health and safety (EHS) policies, practices, protocols, and regulations. Proactively addresses any potential EHS issues and reports any unsafe conditions. Sets a positive example regarding EHS and a safety-first culture.
• Supports Operations and Maintenance in reducing or eliminating equipment and tooling downtime, utilizing solid analytical methodologies, including hands on evaluation and interaction with plant personnel.
• Collaborates closely with cross-functional project team to develop a proposal of improvement initiatives including process, equipment, and product improvements with relevant details such as the scope of work, timelines, labor requirements, costs, and return on investment.
• Prepares and presents detailed financial analysis including project budgets, ROI analysis, and forecasts.
• Supports and maintains error-proofing methodologies.
• Supports and develops department or maintenance projects/activities with good engineering direction.
• When relevant, helps to optimize maintenance programs and practices.
• Composes and publishes standard training documents and single-point lessons.
• Demonstrates continuous improvement behaviors by identifying and resolving problems and offering and implementing suggestions that promote the achievement of team and company objectives; leads continuous improvement projects and initiatives.
• Travels as required to support customer demands, which may include limited international travel
(approximately 10 - 15% travel).
EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum five (5) years of demonstrated manufacturing engineering and capital project management in metal working/machining manufacturing process
• CAD experience (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) is desirable
Requirements:
• Minimum of a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing, mechanical, and electrical processes
• Knowledge of computer or PLC-based machine control systems is desirable.
• Expertise designing, operating, troubleshooting, or maintaining manual and CNC machine tools including, lathes, mills, cylindrical grinders, EDMs, machining centers, etc.
• Practical knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma practices
• Ability to read, interpret and create mechanical, electrical drawings
• Strong understanding of statistical analysis including Six Sigma, control charts, etc. with data-utilization orientation when determining root cause
