Handle complex designing and drafting assignments under minimal supervision. Provide support to Project Management, Vendors, and Customers as assigned. Completes project tasks under some direction from the manager. Communicates with customers throughout the project and follows up upon successful commissioning. Designs new products and systems and makes improvements to existing products and systems. Generates specifications, procurement, job costing, schedule management, customer service, and sales support.
• Creates accurate and complete drawings and models from written and verbal specifications.
• Produces effective product and process designs using CAD Software and an understanding of engineering and manufacturing techniques.
• Prepares multiple timely solutions to satisfy design requirements.
• Specifies complete project dimensions, materials, and procedures for new projects.
• Creates accurate design models and complete documentation using established drafting standards and design documentation for each project.
• Proactively collaborates with other Designers and Engineers to ensure a complete design.
• Completes project designs within scope, budget, and schedule.
• Produces customer-accepted project management responsibilities on small projects.
• Ensures design drawings and revisions are completely accurate and up to date.
• Creates accurate 3D models for assigned projects.
• Proactively provides timely technical assistance and contributes to project team meetings and conference calls.
• Prepare engineering documents for customer submittal.
• Actively collaborates with sales, project management, and process engineering to develop concepts for projects.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Has intermediate knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
• Knowledge of industry-specific processes, automated hardware, or computer applications.
• A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
• Two-year or four-year degree program in Mechanical Design Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years experience in both AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Experience in a fabrication environment is preferred.

The Company fosters a manufacturing-type environment. This position will primarily involve operating a computer at a desk in an office environment.

The wage range for this role takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; certifications; as well as other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $77,000 to $116,000.
