GA-EMS offers modular and scalable satellite platforms backed with a history of operational flight experience to support defense, civil, commercial, and academic mission requirements.
We currently have an opportunity for a junior Project Engineer / Engineering CAM working on satellite systems to join our team located in Englewood, CO. This position is within the program leadership team and aids in engineering execution and development of GA-EMS satellite products and technologies. This position coordinates with cross-functional teams in assessment of program cost and schedule performance to ensure programs are tracking towards success. A mix of technical and programmatic skills is required along with and the ability to coordinate with both Engineering and Program Management. This position reports to the Project Engineering Manager, Space Programs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Partner with Program Management and Engineering Integrated Project Team (IPT) Leads in planning and execution of engineering development efforts on new or existing program.
+ Interface with Engineering Managers, IPT Leads, and Program Management in estimating, scheduling, and maintaining task performance within approved cost and schedule constraints.
+ Develop and evaluate Earned Value reports to assess cost and schedule performance for multiple control accounts, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions.
+ Develop cost and schedule Estimate To Complete (ETC) updates in coordination with IPT Leads in order to adequately forecast program needs.
+ Work with functional engineering leads to develop Basis of Estimates for engineering support on formal proposals and assessment of changes on existing projects.
+ Conduct periodic program planning meetings with Program Management, IPT Leads, and Project Controls.
+ Actively monitor for, and assist with management of, any cost, schedule, or technical scope changes on a program. Work with engineering in evaluation and potential incorporation of scope changes on a program.
+ Assist in the management and execution of the program Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) in accordance with the Program Management Plan (PMP):
+ Help organize all engineering work to support the IMS and overall budget
+ Assist with coordination of engineering inputs to program IMS
+ Work with Program Management, Engineering, and Project Controls to update task forecasts and engineering manpower estimates
+ Track and report schedule metrics and provide assessments for performance correction if needed.
+ Evaluate IMS critical path and recommend schedule compression and/or schedule risk reduction opportunities
+ Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, and presentations.
+ Develop and maintain large scale tracking and burn-down workbooks including: action item lists, drawing burn-downs, design review checklists, and deliverable requirement lists.
+ Keep comprehensive notes/records, provide formal documentation following established processes, and make technical presentations, as required.
+ Communicate with engineering professionals, stakeholders, and management throughout the engineering development cycle

Job Qualifications:
+ Typically requires a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; six or more years of experience with a bachelor’s degree, four or more years of experience with a master’s degree, or four or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.
+ Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) or similar schedule/cost framework and supporting EVMS statusing.
+ Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills are required, enabling an effective interface with other departments and/or professionals
+ Familiarity with initiation, planning, and management of projects
+ Ability to identify issues, analyze and interpret data and develop solutions to a variety of non-routine matters of diverse scope and nature
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project is required and familiarity with Windchill, Atlassian, and SAP software products are desired.
+ CAM or EVMS certification is highly desired.
+ Working knowledge/experience of space systems product lines and customers and DOD experience is highly desired.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required
+ Active DoD Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI is desired
+ Travel expected to be less than 10%.
