About the Job
Key Responsibilities
- Provides the R&D organization and the company with expertise in an engineering methodology to enable state-of-the-art performance and independence of external knowledge.
- Applies deep expertise in an engineering methodology in R&D operations and other projects.
- Constantly monitors the further development of the area of expertise to keep up-to-date (e.g. publications, trainings, knowledge exchange through industry associations and R&D partners).
- Prepares suggestions and decision-making papers for R&D management to initiate methodological changes.
- Advises internal teams in all matters regarding NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) utilizing FE tools
- Maintain clear communication with internal customers to advise on design decisions
- Actively participate on internal cross functional teams to consider all aspects impacting design durability
- Interface with project and program managers to interpret customer NVH requirements
- Collaborate with NVH testing engineers to correlate, refine, and improve NVH simulation models
- Hybrid working schedule available
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters in Mechanical, Aeronautical, or related engineering field
- 5+ years industry experience dealing with FE simulations or relevant educational experience
- Ability to simulate complex systems and articulate results in straightforward, concise manner to support Schaeffler design teams
- Partner with internal design teams to create robust e-mobility products prior to prototype part creation
- Experience with structural simulations utilizing materials such as steels, aluminum, castings, and plastics
- Experience with modal, random vibration, and harmonic response simulation of components and systems
- Experience with MBD (multi-body dynamics) tools such as ADAMS, Simpack, or ANSYS Motion
- Experience in simulation tools such as ANSYS, Abaqus, Simufact, Hypermesh
- Experience in fatigue based tools such as fesafe, FKM, FEMFAT a plus
- Exposure to solid heat transfer, fluid dynamics, or process simulations such as welding or joining a plus
- Experience with FE modeling of subsystems within automotive applications
