Engine Calibration Technician-CRC at Puckett machinery

The Engine Calibration Technician-CRC is responsible for the set-up, testing, diagnostics, repair, and preparation of rebuilt Caterpillar and ancillary engines for shipment.  This is an intermediate level skilled trade position working independently in a production shop environment.  The position reports to the Service Supervisor. 

Essential Job Responsibilities and Functions:

• Setup/install, operate and remove engines and related hardware on an engine dynamometer in a test cell to perform electronic fuel injection calibration, perform diagnostics, make minor repairs as needed, and prepare the unit for shipping.
• Prepare and submit detailed, complete and legible data reports of all engine testing and calibration adjustments performed using prescribed forms and procedures in a timely manner.  
• Maintain the dynamometer test cell area as well as all related instrumentation and equipment in accordance with all prescribed quality and safety standards.
• Serve as a cross-trained and deployable backup to the team of service technicians in the component rebuild center who are responsible to disassemble, test parts, adjust, and reassemble engines and engine components, including but not limited to powertrain pumps, motors, and hydraulics in accordance with all prescribed quality and safety standards.   Therein, research and determine reusability of parts in accordance with published manufacturer guidelines and coordinate the ordering of replacement parts.
• Keep supervisor regularly apprised of status of assigned work and assist in addressing customer questions and concerns.
• Maintain work area, tools, and equipment to promote a clean and safe environment in accordance with all prescribed contamination control protocols.
• Maintain a professional and proper personal appearance at all times.
• Keep up to date with developments in tooling, technologies and systems.
