Job Description
The Energy Efficiency Adviser will play a pivotal role in outreach and education efforts aimed at promoting our client’s energy efficiency program. This position involves engaging with end customers, contractors, manufacturers, distributors, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders involved in energy efficiency solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Foster Relationships: Build and maintain relationships with trade allies to enhance project submissions.
- Project Development: Collaborate directly with customers to develop and implement energy efficiency projects.
- Industry Engagement: Represent TRC and the client at industry events to promote the program.
- CRM Management: Learn and utilize the CRM database for effective project and lead management.
- Lead Tracking: Diligently cultivate, track, and manage program leads.
- Project Oversight: Oversee projects submitted by customers and trade allies, ensuring all requirements are met.
- Collaboration: Work with an assigned Project Coordinator to gather necessary documentation for project approval and close-out.
- Quality Assurance: Validate project workbooks to ensure accuracy of technical information and adjust for any changes.
- Customer Outreach: Conduct outbound calls to new and existing customers to achieve energy-saving targets.
- Field Visits: Effectively manage time during visits to customers or trade allies.
- Presentations: Develop and deliver engaging program presentations to stimulate project activity.
- Customer Support: Respond to inquiries and concerns to facilitate project progress.
- Advisory Role: Collaborate with building owners, property managers, and facility engineers to provide energy efficiency guidance and support.
- Program Insight: Gain a comprehensive understanding of the program’s strategic direction and customer business activities.
- Opportunity Identification: Document on-site energy efficiency opportunities and provide follow-up as needed.
- Technical Discussions: Discuss technical aspects of energy-consuming equipment, including lighting, HVAC, and hot water systems.
- Data Management: Enter data into spreadsheets and databases for energy savings calculations and project management.
- Professional Representation: Maintain a professional appearance as a representative of the organization and utility.
- Customer Engagement: Establish rapport quickly and initiate discussions regarding energy usage at facilities.
- Reporting: Prepare written summary reports for customers and the client/Program Manager as required.
- Team Collaboration: Work effectively within a team to continuously improve operations.

- Valid driver's license and clean driving record; responsible for vehicle maintenance and fees.
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or a related field.
- Certified Energy Auditor (Commercial) designation.
- Experience in commercial or industrial energy efficiency, technical sales, B2B, or construction industry sales.
Experience & Education Minimums
- B.A. or B.S. in Business or a Technical field, or 5+ years of experience in sales, account management, or a related field.
- 1+ years of experience with energy efficiency or energy-efficient products in a utility, government, non-profit, or public agency setting.
- Familiarity with federal grant claims and the reimbursement process.

Pay Range: $31.25 - $36.05 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
