About The Position
**Job Title:** Ambulatory Care Nurse **Job Specialty:** Gastroenterology **Job Duration:** 13 Weeks **Shift:** 5 Days, 7 AM - 3 PM **Guaranteed Hours:** Not specified **Experience:** Minimum 2 years **License:** Valid RN License **Certifications:** BLS, ACLS **Must-Have:** Experience with EPIC EMR **Job Description:** - Support the coordination, integration, communication, implementation, and evaluation of nursing practice and clinical policies and procedures. - Participate in site and organizational quality and performance improvement activities. - Collaborate with licensed providers to develop patient-centered plans of care. - Provide comprehensive care, including the administration of treatments and medication. - Perform physical examinations and diagnostic tests. - Collect patient health histories and record information in electronic health records. - Provide information, counsel, and education to patients and families regarding test results and treatment plans. - Administer medications, including vaccinations and IV therapy, and perform wound care. - Conduct patient triage for clinical concerns, both over the phone and in person. - Assess and monitor patient responses to treatments, procedures, and anesthesia. - Consult with clinical supervisors and licensed providers on treatment plans. - Supervise and delegate tasks to licensed practical nurses, medical assistants, and technicians. - Ensure clinical compliance with patient safety initiatives and support key quality initiatives. - Collaborate with members of the interdisciplinary team and promote collegial relationships. - Participate in clinical inquiry and foster evidence-based practice. - Embrace fundamental values, ethical obligations, and recognize patients' rights to confidentiality. - Provide emergency care according to organizational policy. - Engage in self-assessment and partake in professional growth activities. - Maintain current nursing knowledge and competence. - Procure and apply new knowledge related to medical treatment and technology. - Perform on-site testing and various medical and nursing treatments. - Administer IV therapy and start/discontinue peripheral IV lines. - Manage communication and message management efficiently. - Serve as a brand ambassador by promoting excellence in patient experience. - Educate patients and families to promote healthy adjustments to new health patterns.
