The Staff Pad is partnering with a dynamic healthcare provider to seek skilled and dedicated Emergency Medical Technicians to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in emergency medical care, a commitment to patient safety, and the ability to respond effectively in high-pressure situations.
Position Overview:
The EMT is responsible for responding to emergency and non-emergency calls, assessing patients, and delivering basic medical care under the supervision of Paramedics, Registered Nurses, or Emergency Department Physicians. In addition, the EMT-Basic will assist with patient care in the Emergency Department, maintain ambulances and equipment, and ensure accurate and timely documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls to provide immediate care and transportation for patients.
- Assist in managing medical, trauma, and environmental emergencies under supervision.
- Maintain ambulances and equipment in accordance with State and Federal regulations.
- Collaborate with Emergency Department staff to provide direct patient care, including vital signs, EKGs, IV insertions, specimen collection, and patient transfers.
- Enter patient information into medical systems and assist with cleaning and preparation of patient rooms.
- Adhere to department policies and procedures while maintaining a flexible and adaptable approach to assignments.
Requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a DOT-approved Emergency Medical Technician-Basic course.
- Current Montana State EMT Licensure (required).
- Current BLS Certification (required).
- Valid Montana State driver's license with an excellent driving record.
- EVOC certification (required within one year of employment).
- 1+ year of experience with emergency medical equipment, including suction machines, defibrillators, and oxygen delivery systems (preferred).
- Familiarity with traffic ordinances and emergency care transportation laws (preferred).
Preferred Qualifications:
- National (NREMT) Certification.
- Completed EMT endorsement courses.
- Experience in basic automotive mechanics and territory knowledge within the service area.
