This position is in the General Government Unit (GGU) at a Range 14.
What You Will Be Doing:
The Employment Services Technician 1 assists a widely diverse customer base, including job seekers and employers, with identifying and resolving potential obstacles to employment; developing and obtaining career goals through career planning, researching labor market information; and referrals to employment, partners, and community resources. The Employment Services Technician uses critical thinking skills, presentation and public speaking skills, problem-solving skills, conflict resolution skills, coaching skills, and independent work strategies while utilizing a variety of computer databases and software.

This uniquely rewarding position is located in the beautiful Mat-Su Valley. The daily work environment is full of variety with ever-changing priorities and assignments. This is a public facing customer service-driven position and involves extensive in-person contact to explain and elicit information regarding procedures, services, and/or requirements relating to employment services provided by Resource Room staff at the Mat-Su Job Center. This position may require local travel on a limited basis to conduct services or to attend training. A state vehicle is available to schedule and use.
