About the Job
CALIBRE Systems, Inc., an Employee-Owned Management Consulting and Digital Transformation company, is seeking an Employment Resource Coordinator for DOL TAP (Department of Labor Transition Assistance Program).Each year, an estimated 200,000 servicemen and women separate from the United States military; resulting in new Veterans returning to civilian life.The Employment Resource Coordinator supports Off Base Transition Training (OBTT) by coordinating employment workshops with state and local agencies as well as setting up events, presenting information briefs, conducting counseling sessions, marketing, and communicating with DOL and other interagency partners.
In this role, you will:
•Assist inthecreationandimplementationofOBTTMemorandaofAgreement(MOA)
•CoordinatewithMOA signatories toschedule andhost brickandmortarOBTTworkshops atselectsitesorsupport employment efforts to OBTT participants
•Coordinatewithotherstateandlocalstakeholders thatdesire toscheduleandhostbrickandmortarOBTTworkshops at select sites
•CoordinatewithstateAdjutantsGeneralinpilotstatestoexpandemploymentservices providedtotheirmembers
•Coordinate withstateDirectors ofVeterans Affairsinpilotstatestoexpand employmentservicesprovided to veterans being served by County Veteran Service Officers
Required Skills
- Possess comprehensive understanding of challenges facing the Transitioning Service Member population as it pertains to employment and economic opportunity.
- Knowledge of the civilian workplace, translating military skills/language, assessing job market, and researching/interpreting job requirements
- The ability to communicate effectively with military clients, be observant of others, comfortable with one -on-one engagements, and respond to enquiries independently
- Excellent time management skills and able to work independently
- Be proficient in MS Windows and Office
- Able to travel as needed
Required Experience
Required Experience:
- Experience which demonstrates understanding of private and public sector employment processes
- Five years of employment counseling or career counseling experience
·Previousexperience whichdemonstrates anunderstanding ofrecruitment, hiring,andeffectivejob-seeking skillsinprivateand public sectors
·Knowledge of military culture and experience working with military personnel is a plus
Required Education:
- Associate’s degree
- High School diploma and four years of experience working as a Workforce Solutions, Workforce Development, Career Counselor, Human Resources (HR) Specialist and/or experience in employment counseling, vocational counseling, guidance, placement counseling, rehabilitation counseling or educational counseling.
