Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients on employment law matters, including but not limited to hiring, termination, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour issues, and employee benefits.
- Draft, review, and negotiate employment agreements, severance agreements, non-compete agreements, and other employment-related contracts.
- Conduct legal research and analysis on complex employment law issues and provide strategic recommendations to clients.
- Represent clients in employment-related litigation, including discrimination claims, wrongful termination suits, and wage and hour disputes.
- Assist in the development and implementation of workplace policies, procedures, and training programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Stay abreast of developments in employment law and advise clients on emerging legal trends and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Massachusetts State Bar with 2-7 years of experience practicing employment law.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven track record of providing strategic legal advice and counseling to clients.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience representing both employers and employees in employment-related matters.
- Prior experience handling employment litigation matters, including trials and administrative proceedings.
- Familiarity with alternative dispute resolution methods, such as mediation and arbitration.
- Experience advising clients in the technology, healthcare, or financial services industries.
