Looking for a dynamic and dedicated Employment Litigation Associate to join our team. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who is passionate about employment law, possesses strong litigation skills, and has a keen interest in the finance industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a variety of employment-related cases, providing legal advice on employment and benefits matters, and ensuring compliance with EEOC and IDHR regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive legal advice and guidance on a wide range of employment and benefits matters, including but not limited to employee relations, performance management, terminations, and employment policies.
- Manage all aspects of employment litigation, including discovery, depositions, motions, trial preparation, and trial.
- Conduct internal investigations in response to employee complaints and advise management on appropriate actions based on investigation findings.
- Develop and implement employment policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and mitigate legal risks.
- Represent the company in proceedings before federal and state courts, and administrative agencies such as the EEOC and IDHR.
- Collaborate closely with Human Resources and other departments to provide legal advice and guidance on employment and benefits matters.
- Keep abreast of changes in employment law and proactively advise management on potential impacts and required actions.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice law in the state and in good standing.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in employment litigation, with a focus on the financial services industry preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in handling EEOC and IDHR matters.
- Proven track record in employment and benefits counseling.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong commitment to client service and demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships.
