Job Description
The Employee Wellness and Health Nurse will assess and monitor the environment of health and safety to improve the overall health of employees and to prevent injuries as well as manage departmental programs that align with the organization's wellness strategy and initiatives. The nurse conducts screenings insuring that health information is accurate and confidential, and participants are satisfied with their experience. Additionally, this individual will develop programs for injury prevention and provide health advising as part of the biometric screening process for employees.
The Nurse may be assigned to Administer Worker’s Compensation Program.
The Employee Wellness and Health Nurse participates in and assists in the coordination of special events such as wellness fairs, wellness classes and programs requested by the program director and department managers.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree plus minimum three years of experience in health services clinic or health promotion program OR Master’s Degree plus minimum two years of experience in health promotion programs.
Master’s degree in a health related, social or health science field of study preferred.
Three years of Wellness program experience working within a large employer or health care provider strongly preferred
Two years of occupational health nursing experience preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of health promotion, communicable disease surveillance and state and federal OSHA standards.
Demonstrates knowledge of nursing process and theories in accordance with the California Nursing Practice Act and care consistent with the ANA Code of Ethics and the ANA Bill of Rights for Nursing.
Demonstrated analytical skills with experience in program development and metric tracking.
Demonstrated proficiency in organizing and performing biometric assessments and interpreting health screening results.
Finger stick experience preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication, customer service, interpersonal and presentation skills.
Must possess the ability to work with a degree of autonomy and reliability and as part of a team and be flexible in adjusting to program needs.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point).
Experience with electronic employee health records a plus.
Must be able to travel between hospital campuses and other off-site locations within Santa Clara County up to 25% of time.
License/Certification/Registration Requirements
Current California LVN or RN license (RN preferred)
Basic Lifesaving Certification - American Heart Association
Salary Range:
$46.10 - $69.15 USD Hourly
