About the Role: Client Service Manager
The Employee Benefits Client Service Manager plays a key leadership role, overseeing daily operations, client services, and program management to support health and welfare benefit programs. This position combines management responsibilities, such as supervising teams and ensuring efficient department operations, with direct client support. The role may also involve managing a personal book of business, providing hands-on service as an Account Executive. It requires strong leadership, organizational, and client advocacy skills to drive success in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of employee benefits professionals, including training, setting expectations, and ensuring quality standards.
- Act as an escalation point for complex issues, providing resolutions or further escalation as needed.
- Conduct team meetings to share updates, assignments, and best practices while fostering a collaborative environment.
- Ensure client deliverables meet expectations and maintain branding and presentation standards.
- Stay updated on industry changes, regulations, and internal resources, integrating them into team strategies and operations.
- Conduct annual performance reviews, assist in budgeting, and monitor operational expenses.
- Communicate team goals, vision, and procedures, ensuring alignment with leadership objectives.
- Build strong relationships with clients, addressing service needs, resolving issues, and supporting producers in developing new business opportunities.
- Oversee team performance, analyze results, and share insights with leadership.
- Develop and implement best practices for technology tools and platforms.
- Support a book of business, managing client relationships, renewals, and service needs while ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Continuously seek industry knowledge and provide thought leadership to the team.
- Perform additional duties and projects as required.
Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience working in a carrier or brokerage environment
- 2+ years of supervisory experience
- Active Life and Health License for Utah
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and experience
Preferred (not required):
- Experience managing self-funded plans or groups of 300+ employees
- Familiarity with compliance regulations and reporting tools
Skills & Expertise:
- Strong leadership and staff supervision skills, including addressing personnel needs and conducting fair evaluations.
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to analyze and implement effective solutions.
- Desire to grow professionally and enhance industry expertise.
- Strong customer service skills, including responsiveness, conflict resolution, and soliciting feedback for improvement.
- Confidence and professionalism to engage effectively across all organizational levels.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships and collaborate with vendors to meet client needs.
- Teamwork and coaching skills to develop the abilities of others.
- Exceptional organizational skills to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities with accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and related systems.
- Competence in basic math calculations, including percentages and commissions.

Compensation: $135,000-$175,000 Salary with additional $15,000-20,000 per year based on performance.
