The Emergency Response – Logistics Specialist will be a member of our firm’s Response Cadre. These are short-term contract positions where candidates selected will be deployed to help respond to ongoing emergencies/disasters. If selected, you will need to travel to the client site, which may be an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) or field site and will be responsible for assisting with emergency response logistics planning and coordination, monitoring ongoing emergency response activities, and engaging with stakeholders to provide status updates. Note that candidates selected must be available to deploy within 24 to 72 hours’ notice, and will need to remain onsite, typically for a minimum of 30 days.
Responsibilities for the Emergency Response – Logistics Specialist Include:
- Coordinate logistics and manage resources within an emergency management/disaster response situation.
- Ensure efforts follow disaster logistics plans, and provide feedback and status updates on these efforts to internal and external clients.
- Maintain accurate inventory of resources and track their deployment/utilization during incidents.
- Coordinate logistics activities with other functional areas within the incident command structure within an Emergency Operations Center (EOC).
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures related to logistics operations during emergencies.
Qualifications for the Emergency Response – Logistics Specialist Include:
- Willing and able to be on-call for travel within 24 to 72 hours of notice.
- At least three (3) years of professional experience in emergency management.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Ability to work long shifts, up to 12 hours as needed, based on the client’s operational tempo.
- Experience working in an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) or as part of an Incident Management Team (IMT).
- Understanding of National Incident Management System (NIMS) and/or Incident Command System (ICS) processes.
- Prior experience working as a Logistics Section Lead or Logistics Section Chief preferred.
Compensation for the Emergency Response – Logistics Specialist Includes:
- Salary range of $70,000 - $150,000. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and training, licensure and certifications, internal equity, location, travel requirements, and other business and organizational needs.

This role requires frequent travel, including air travel to disaster sites where transportation options are extremely limited or nonexistent. Upon arrival, the ability to operate a vehicle is an essential function of this role for navigating these sites and performing job duties. A valid driver’s license is required, and Hagerty Consulting will arrange and cover the cost of flights and rental vehicles.
