Job Information:
- Responsible for the overall operations and management of Emergency Management throughout the organization
- Plans, develops, coordinates, conducts, trains, implements, and maintains systemwide emergency management activities
- Responsible for the participation and final recommendations for the budget process and compliance on emergency management/disaster supplies and equipment
- Participates in AHCA, TJC, DOH, and county/state surveys and inspections on emergency and disaster management
- Manages communication and tasks between Engineering, Environment of Care Committee, Government agencies, and departments within the hospital
- Participates in off-site government functions related to Emergency and Security management, and implements programs and procedures related to these functions
- Coordinates providing warnings and emergency data to the organization and providing operational and technical support to leadership before, during, and after emergency situations
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to small and large groups within and outside of the hospital
- Knowledge of hospital Emergency Management, safety, security, emergency response practices, The Joint Commission, NIMS, and AHCA guidelines (local, regional, state, federal, and accreditation)
- Demonstrates and assures a professional, cooperative interaction with all hospital departments, medical staff, regulatory agencies, city and county employees (EMS, Fire, Police dept) and the public in keeping with the mission and philosophy of Manatee Memorial Hospital at all times

Qualifications
- Degree in Emergency Management/Preparedness, Disaster Management, Public Safety, or closely related field required
- 2 years of experience in emergency management, emergency preparedness, emergency operations, safety, or related field
- Trained in emergency/disaster training and actual participation in disaster exercises. Ability to evaluate and act independently regarding safety issues, deficiencies, failures of equipment, etc.
- Completion of FEMA 100, 200, 700, and 800 level courses
- Completion of NIMS 300 and 400 level courses within one year of hire
- Trained in emergency/disaster training and actual participation in disaster exercises. Ability to evaluate and act independently regarding safety issues, deficiencies, failures of equipment, etc.
