The Emergency Data Analyst will be a member of our firm’s Response Cadre. These are short-term contract positions where candidates selected will be deployed to help respond to ongoing emergencies/disasters. If selected, you will need to travel to the client site, which may be an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) or field site, and will be responsible for assisting with emergency response operations. This might include coordinating operations, monitoring the progress of response operations, and engaging with stakeholders to provide status updates. Note that candidates selected must be available to deploy within 24 to 72 hours’ notice, and will need to remain onsite, typically for a minimum of 30 days.
Responsibilities for the Emergency Data Analyst Include:
- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and visualizations using business intelligence (BI) tools, such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik, to provide situational awareness and track metrics critical to the emergency operations center (EOC).
- Gather and analyze data from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
- Create and analyze reports which will be used to support decision-making by EOC leadership and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with EOC staff from various functional areas to understand their information needs and create tailored reporting and visualization solutions.
- Perform data quality assurance tasks to ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and reliability of data used for situational awareness and decision support.
Qualifications for the Emergency Data Analyst Include:
- Willing and able to be on-call for travel within 24 to 72 hours of notice.
- At least three (3) years of professional experience working with data analysis and business intelligence tools, preferable in support of emergency management projects.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Ability to work long shifts, up to 12 hours as needed, based on the client’s operational tempo.
- Understanding of National Incident Management System (NIMS) and/or Incident Command System (ICS) processes preferred but not required.
Compensation for the Emergency Data Analyst Includes:
- Salary range of $70,000 - $110,000. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and training, licensure and certifications, internal equity, location, travel requirements, and other business and organizational needs.

This role requires frequent travel, including air travel to disaster sites where transportation options are extremely limited or nonexistent. Upon arrival, the ability to operate a vehicle is an essential function of this role for navigating these sites and performing job duties. A valid driver’s license is required, and Hagerty Consulting will arrange and cover the cost of flights and rental vehicles.
