Woburn, MA or Dayton, OH or Arlington, VA, or Melbourne, FL. Hybrid work environment but must be able to commute to the office as needed for program activities.
- Applicable understanding of algorithm implementation in software for real time systems, especially radar and/or remote sensing
- CUDA experience preferred
- Proficiency in radar simulation tools (MATLAB)
- Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance
- Applicable understanding in one or more of the following areas: Electronic Warfare, Antenna Apertures, Sensor Resource Management, Large-Scale Platform Test Systems, Cyber Physical Systems, Open System Architectures (UCI, OMS, COARPS)
System Development Division (SDD) is focused on delivering National Defense capabilities by driving mission-focused strategies to develop advanced technology systems enabling enduring products and solutions focused on achieving the customer vision. Our programs deliver sustainable, reliable, and cost-efficient capabilities focused on end-customer needs that function in operationally relevant environments and timeframes. SDD considers the entire lifecycle of the solution, from conceptualization and architecting, through development to deployment, while leveraging novel technologies to deliver first-of-a-kind systems.
SDD is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to support the design, development, and implementation of real-time processing solutions in software for advanced multi-function Radar systems. You will collaborate with fellow researchers and engineers on multi-disciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions related to exploration and demonstration of Radar and EW/RF convergence. In this role, and under the guidance of senior Engineers, you will design and implement digital signal processing over the complete signal processing chain for radar applications in various operational environments.
This position requires skills in working with multi-disciplinary teams, design, development, and test activities, as well as proficiency in relevant technologies. Applicants are expected to be self-motivated, detail oriented and have ability to effectively communicate.
What you will do:
- Under guidance from senior staff, support development of innovative radar/EW systems through implementation of digital signal processing
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand system requirements and specifications as they relate to assigned tasking
- Design and implement signal processing and software solutions
- Create and maintain design documentation and test plans
- Near term tasking may be related to RF systems for airborne applications, but you may be tasked on other applications as needed
Who you are:
- Applicable knowledge of implementing real-time signal processing solutions in C++ (C++17 or later)
- Applicable knowledge of digital signal processing
- Familiarity with embedded development; experience with Xilinx MPSoC, and RFSoC platforms a plus
- Experience in delivery of advanced development hardware
- Capable of effectively working in a team environment
- Experience in providing information for briefings and technical reviews (SRRs, PDRs, CDRs, TIMS)
- Background should include a Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of applicable experience; Master’s degree. Equivalent experience will be considered
