Job Posting Summary:
Seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer with over 7 years of expertise in medical devices or safety-critical software development, specializing in C++ and embedded Linux, to lead technically complex projects in either Minneapolis or Providence.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in medical devices or other safety-critical software development.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in C++ application development in the embedded space.
- Proficiency in embedded software development, including knowledge of operating systems and multithreaded programming.
- Proven experience with user space application development on Embedded Linux.
- Knowledge of multithreading, memory management, and debugging using GDB.
- Proficiency with open source cross-compiler tools and Linux kernel development.
- Experience with QT/QML or other UI software frameworks.
- Demonstrated programming proficiency in C/C++ and scripting languages.
- Strong understanding of processor and hardware requirements for embedded Linux.
- Experience in microprocessor/microcontroller bring-up and embedded device drivers.
- Familiarity with the Open System Interconnection (OSI) model and its application to network design.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum-based product development.
- Experience working in a Continuous Integration (CI) environment.
- Experience with Software Configuration Management.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
- Knowledge of medical device standards, specifically IEC 62304.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of safety-critical software using C++ on embedded Linux platforms.
- Develop and oversee user space applications on Embedded Linux.
- Execute multithreaded programming and memory management tasks.
- Utilize GDB for software debugging and troubleshooting.
- Manage technically complex development projects from conception to production.
- Contribute to kernel development and manage cross-compiler tools for software builds.
- Integrate and maintain software in a CI environment, following Agile methodologies.
- Design and develop software in compliance with medical device regulatory standards.
- Work onsite in either Minneapolis or Providence.
Pay Details: $40.00 to $60.00 per hour
