ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Certification to perform cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for the Health Care Professional (CPR) and AED through courses that follow the guidelines from the American Heart Association and Red Cross (cognitive and skills evaluations)
Valid Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety for all specialty behavioral health locations
High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
Minimum three (3) year experience in medical front office, customer service and/or experience in sales, interview techniques, and extensive public relations/contact work
Experience and knowledge of health care programs available through state and federal programs such as Medicaid/AHCCCS, DES, etc.
Bilingual English/Spanish. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with monolingual Spanish speakers
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, utilizing excellent English, spelling, and punctuation skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished
Strong familiarity with human service agencies serving low-income and minority populations and understanding of and sensitivity to issues of concerns to low-income and minority communities
Ability to meet and deal effectively with clients, associates, and the general public
Basic computer efficiency, with the ability to utilize the Patient Management system
Valid Arizona Driver’s License and current auto insurance
Must have reliable transportation that can meet any operational reassignments of the organization during the workday.
Competency in dealing with people of various cultures and backgrounds
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervise Eligibility Navigators, working closely with the Eligibility Manager and Eligibility Specialist.
Provide ongoing performance feedback and conducting team check-ins, supporting eligibility navigators, being proactive about anticipating and solving problems, and if necessary, working closely with leadership, implementing any corrective actions and making employment termination decisions.
Recruit, screen, hire, orient, train, direct and monitor all community-based navigator outreach and enrollment work.
Complete online Navigator certification and obtain Navigator license, maintaining training annually and perform duties of a Navigator for the length of the cooperative agreement. This also includes any additional training that supports the work of the Eligibility Navigators as agreed upon with the Eligibility Manager and Community Programs Director.
Coordinate with marketing and other departments to allow for timely and actionable messages to convey about health coverage opportunities available. Ensure translated materials are made available as needed to serve consumers and/or patients in culturally and appropriate ways.
Maintain knowledge, expertise, and certification in eligibility, enrollment and program specifications of the Federal Marketplace and other health coverage programs such as AHCCCS, CHIP, SNAP, and presumptive eligibility.
Ensure the protection, data-sharing consent, and security of a consumer’s personal, confidential and identifiable information and carry out all measures to prevent from unauthorized disclosures.
Work with Eligibility Navigators to build a referral network within Adelante Health Centers and community partners to help identify eligible individuals who need assistance enrolling in coverage
Collect and submit reports including, but not limited to weekly, quarterly, and annual reports as required by Navigator grant
Provide enrollment assistance to uninsured children and adults to help them access health insurance through the Federally Facilitated Marketplace, state Medicaid Program or Sliding Fee Scale Discount Program as needed, especially during open enrollment.
Collect and store all Navigator consent forms as required by the grant.
Present to other community partners on health coverage programs available.
Attend community outreach events to promote Navigator enrollment assistance and Adelante Healthcare services and outreach to community members, partner organizations and businesses to provide material and information about available resources and programs.
NONESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Associates Degree from a two year college in a health care or related field
Three (3) years of experience in community health

Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time when traveling to various clinic sites. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee may be subject to health hazards (contagious diseases, blood borne pathogens, etc.) when working in the clinic area.
