Monday Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

A a leading pharmaceutical company in the city of Whittier is looking for an Eligibility Coordinator to manage insurance verifications, obtain medical coverage information, and assist with pharmacy claims. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with insurance companies, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle heavy data entry and communication with multiple health plans. You are applying through Express Employment Professionals, an award-winning Staffing Firm, for this long-term position. 

Eligibility Coordinator Responsibilities:

• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits by contacting health plans (Medicare, Medicaid, PPO, HMO, etc.).
• Perform heavy data entry into pharmacy and medical systems.
• Communicate insurance coverage details to patients, physicians, and pharmacy staff.
• Coordinate with pharmacy departments for timely prescription adjudication.
• Participate in quality assurance programs and maintain compliance with regulations (HIPAA/HITECH).
• Resolve insurance-related issues and report errors to management as needed.

Eligibility Coordinator Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Experience with insurance verification and customer service in Pharmacy or medical office experience.
• Knowledge of medical and pharmaceutical terminology 
• Experience with HMO, PPO, Medicare insurance plans.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Data entry skills 
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
