Job DescriptionLa Scuola International seeks Elementary Extended Care teachers to assist with the development and implementation of Extended Care and Enrichment programs that nurture the students intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically. The Elementary Extended Care Teacher will support and implement the daily program in accordance with the policies and philosophy of the School under the supervision and direction of the Director of Auxiliary Programs and the Head of School.
Role & Responsibilities include but are not limited to
- Works with the Director of Auxiliary Programs to implement an engaging, developmentally appropriate educational, enriching K-8 Extended Care curriculum which expands and supports student learning experiences beyond the classroom;
- Develops and maintains professional working relationships through effective and timely communication with the Director of Auxiliary Programs, Division Directors other staff members;
- Works cooperatively and effectively as a team member by communicating and contributing information on a continuous basis;
- Efficiently and consistently redirects inappropriate student behaviors and implements the school’s disciplinary approach to effectively monitor and guide appropriate student behavior;
- Supports Auxiliary Programs by addressing the ongoing needs of the students and parents and ensuring Extended Care is an extension of school day programming and discipline / classroom management practices; supports the emotional and social development of children;
- Observes, monitors, and participates in children’s play activities;
- Promotes a safe and healthy environment based on safety standards set within the program;
- Reports any concerns and questions regarding the program (students, parents, equipment needs, supplies, other staff, volunteers, etc.) to the Director of Auxiliary Programs and the Campus Manager;
- Maintains accurate and organized records such as attendance records, timesheets, incident reports, and all other paperwork as instructed by the Director of Auxiliary Programs to ensure program compliance and quality operations;
- Helps prepare snacks for the children when needed and clean-up the snack area;
- Assists in the cleaning and straightening of the room and equipment before, during, and after the program when needed. This may include sweeping, washing tables, chairs, and locking the building at the end of the day;
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in education or equivalent area of study;
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a school setting;
- Bilingual and bi-literate in Italian and English with native or near-native Italian proficiency.

Additional Information
Start date: August 1, 205
Salary Range: $22 - $30 per hour, commensurate with experience and credentials.

Additional Information
Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. Prior to beginning work and as a condition of employment in order to comply with the law, all employees must provide documentation to prove eligibility to work in the United States.
Final candidates will need to pass both Criminal Justice Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance and a physical exam, and provide a recent copy of a negative TB test and other immunization records.
