GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: Accurately diagnose faults and take appropriate repair actions to restore Line Replaceable Units (LRUs), Shop Replaceable Units (SRUs), Test Measurement & Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE), Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) and special purpose test equipment to operational condition
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
PRIMARY -
- Diagnose faults in the test stations and Test Program Sets (TPS) and take required repair actions to restore electronic units or test stations, multi-conductor cables and wiring harnesses to fully operational and serviceable status
- Perform self-devised, supplemental fault or technical analysis routines when failures are beyond the scope of automated diagnostics program Test Program Sets (TPS) to isolate the faulty components.
- Perform in-depth technical analysis to resolve issues pertaining to technical problems on specified weapons systems.
- Perform in-depth analysis of test software and recommend specific corrective actions.
- Assist in prototype and first article testing to ensure the Government receives a fully functional TPS that identifies faults quickly and accurately.
- Repair, modify, troubleshoot, calibrate, align and functionally test electronic equipment and test stations, both manually and with automatic test stations
SECONDARY -
- May be required to train other industry personnel and/or government personnel in the proper use and repair techniques associated with avionic systems and equipment repair
- Access the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) CADSTAR Program and/or FEDMIX program to obtain the latest drawings, parts lists, mechanical drawings, and technical specifications. Consult with the OEM's point of contact to ensure the highest possible accuracy in the information database for technical advice.
- Maintain safe and clean working environment and comply with all applicable security and safety regulations and OSHA standards

JOB SKILLS:
Required -
- Review and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals in the performance of repair, troubleshooting, and technical analysis duties for reparable units and test stations.
- Use a variety of standard Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE), distortion analyzers, frequency counters, multi-meters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and voltmeters in support of technical and repair services.
- Set up and operate equipment used in the fabrication of printed circuit boards, cables and other higher-level assemblies.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Graduate or Equivalent
- Associates Degree or qualified certificate in electrical, mechanical or similar related fields highly preferred.
- Eight (8) or more years work experience in the following field(s): Avionic equipment repair, industrial component repair and or maintenance, electronic repair and or maintenance.
- Work experience may be substituted for education/certification and requires an additional 4 years of hands-on experience.
- Experience with government Work Control Documents (WCD) and validation/verification process of acceptance of new technologies highly preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
· The work environment characteristics are representative of those performing essential functions of the job in an industrial production and repair environment and general office setting. · Must be able to work sitting or standing. · May be required to lift up to 25 pounds unassisted. · Minor cuts and scrapes are to be expected. Possible minor burns or shock from operating electrical equipment and or soldering equipment may be present. · Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) shall be expected to be worn and used when required. · Standard work week generally applies; however, candidate will be expected to work as the requirement dictates
