Position Overview:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Break-Fix Technician to join our team, specializing in the repair and maintenance of mobile devices (smartphones), tablets, and IoT (Internet of Things) hardware. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing issues with a wide range of mobile devices, tablets, and IoT products, ensuring they are restored to full functionality with minimal downtime.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with mobile electronics, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a customer-focused attitude. You will play an essential role in providing high-quality break-fix support for our clients, ensuring their mobile and IoT devices are back up and running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostics and repair on mobile devices (smartphones, tablets) and IoT devices (smart home systems, wearables, smart appliances, etc.), addressing both hardware and software issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues such as broken screens, battery problems, malfunctioning buttons, connectivity issues, and software errors.
- Test and evaluate repaired devices to ensure they meet quality and functionality standards.
- Perform system updates, firmware upgrades, and software installations as part of the repair process.
- Replace damaged or defective parts, including screens, charging ports, batteries, and internal components.
- Maintain and repair IoT devices, such as smart home products, wearables, sensors, and other connected hardware.
- Maintain clear and accurate records of services performed, parts used, and time spent on each repair job.
- Provide expert advice and recommendations to customers regarding device upgrades, replacements, or preventive maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with customers to explain issues and resolutions, ensuring they understand the process and expectations.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in mobile technology, IoT trends, and repair techniques.
- Assist in inventory management and ordering of replacement parts.
- Ensure all repairs follow safety protocols and warranty requirements.
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience repairing mobile devices, tablets, or IoT hardware.
- Strong technical knowledge of mobile operating systems (Android, iOS) and IoT platforms.
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues on a wide range of mobile devices, including screen replacement, battery issues, and connectivity problems.
- Familiarity with IoT devices, including smart home products, wearables, and connected hardware.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools, repair equipment, and software for mobile devices and IoT products.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on delivering high-quality repairs.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple service requests in a timely manner.
