About the Job
We are seeking skilled and motivated Electronics Technician candidates to support on-site at Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC), you will provide direct support to Code 34 Imaging and Electronic Warfare (I&EW) Team. Position responsibilities include fabrication, manufacture, testing, installation and maintenance of I&EW Sensors and Antenna Shipsets, repair, assembly, installation and test support for Electronic Warfare Sensors and related special support equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, repair, and assembly of complex I&EW systems
- Testing of sub-assemblies and completed systems; Collect Antenna Assembly technical data at the component, subassembly, and assembly levels
- Conduct receipt inspections and determine serviceability of Fleet-returned assets as well as electrical and mechanical inspections to ensure vendor compliance of received parts
- Conduct Quality Assurance Inspections on new and repaired assemblies as required by directives
- Analyze the collected technical data for conformance to specifications, identify issues, and provide recommendations to resolve any issues
- Assembly of Engineering Prototypes including product improvement feedback to engineers, and the completion of drawing redlines, and associated process forms as required
- Assistance in the development of Test Procedures
- Develop program status reports such as technical assessments, risk assessments, technical recommendations or technical information
Requirements/Skills:
- Technical School Diploma and two years' experience related to the above tasks, or a minimum of 6 years active-duty submarine combat system experience preferably with experience with US Navy Submarine Combat Systems (BYG-1, EW, SONAR, IMAGING, etc.).
- Tasking requires a strong attention to detail and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with electronic testing procedures and Standard Test equipment
- Ability to learn and apply techniques quickly as part of a team effort, or independently, to develop innovative technical solutions
- Documented completion of soldering and / or fiber-optic termination / connectorization / certification / training
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- US Citizenship and be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
Additional Skills of Interest: (not required)
- Active DoD Security clearance
- Understanding of DoD engineering design practices
- Knowledge of EW systems and technology, specifically AN/BLQ-10
- Experience in VISIO or similar engineering-oriented documentation applications
