The NCDMV License & Theft Bureau is a law enforcement agency which enforces all State and Federal laws that regulate motor vehicle operations, sales, inspection, maintenance, and auto theft, and conduct investigations that prevent frauds, impositions, and other abuses upon the citizens of the state of North Carolina. The employee in this position will be responsible for coordinating a full range of support activities necessary for the efficient operation of the unit. This position assists in acquisition, assignment, and maintenance of vehicles and is responsible for ordering, installing, and troubleshooting law enforcement vehicle emergency operating equipment, other necessary aftermarket law enforcement vehicle equipment, and Mobile Data Terminal (MDT) or Mobile Computer Terminal (MCT) systems. In addition, this position assists the Supply and Logistics Unit personnel with general warehouse duties.
The employee in this position will assist in coordinating support activities necessary for the efficient operation of the unit. The member will issue uniforms and/or equipment either by direct issue to DMV members visiting the warehouse or by packaging orders and sending them to members at locations throughout the state. This member is responsible for maintaining the warehouse by stocking and organizing shelves, straightening specific areas, and/or moving supplies from outlying storage areas into the main warehouse. The employee in this position shall assist with receiving, counting, and preparing merchandise for issue, including any data entry necessary to accomplish this objective. This member assists the Supply and Logistics Supervisor in ordering of uniforms and equipment as needed and any paperwork associated with these processes. Members in this position must climb ladders, crouch and/or reach to stock top and bottom shelves and climb in and out of the delivery trucks. This employee must lift, load, and unload heavy boxes (up to 50 lbs.) and other supplies. The member in this position will operate forklifts, hand trucks and/or pallet jacks as necessary, and will occasionally be required to drive agency assigned vehicles.
Due to the sensitive nature and safety precautions required for the use and maintenance of law enforcement vehicles, weapons and equipment, this position must demonstrate the utmost integrity in unit operations to ensure that inventory controls are maintained at a high standard and confidential information is handled appropriately. General office duties and knowledge are required, such as filing and the use of office equipment, use of Outlook mail, including setting schedules using outlook calendar, and use of other Microsoft suite applications (Access, Excel, Word, etc.).
The typical work schedule is Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm.
