Our Defensive Sensor Test Flight (TGBB) is searching for an Electronic Warfare Test Engineer with computer systems knowledge to join the United States Air Force’s premier Developmental Test (DT) Team.If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and being on the cutting edge of innovative communications technology, this is the place for you. We are looking for people that have a strong engineering or computer science background and have the drive and motivation to learn all other required/preferred areas.Position responsibilities can span from assisting a team lead as a team member to leading a project.
This position provides support to the 46 Test Squadron/TGBB at Eglin AFB. This is NOT a remote position; however, telework opportunities may be authorized as mission requirements allow.This support includes the following:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform test engineering-related duties to execute testing of defensive weapons systems in the electronic warfare (EW) arena.
- Provide individual technical expertise on questions/issues of critical importance to the customer.
- Assist in the development of system requirements, functional capabilities, performance measures, design constraints, test phase entry/exit criteria, and metrics.
- Support development test (DT), operational test (OT), force development evaluation (FDE), and certification for test readiness by identifying deficiencies, verifying compliance with specifications and standards, and demonstrating a stable system configuration.
- Prepare, execute, review, and analyze test plans, procedures, metrics, and reports throughout the system-under-test development life cycle.
- Develop and write methods of tests, test cases, test cards/procedures, test directives, technical or letter reports, and test objectives.
- Review and analyze requirements and any other test process documents as required in the conduct of testing.
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor test projects that frequently require significant modification of standard practices or adaptation of instrumentation to obtain valid results.
- Coordinate schedules, pre-and post-test activities, and test results.
- Conduct Electronic Warfare (EW) system testing, validation and verification testing, and modeling and simulation testing at locations to include but not limited to: Eglin AFB, FL; Ridgecrest, CA; Nevada Test and Training Range; Wright-Patterson AFB, OH; Patuxent River, MD; and other TDY locations.
- Attend meetings as necessary to provide briefings, information, and recommendations.
- Support any additional test activities as assigned by TGBB leadership.

Required:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in an engineering or computer science discipline (i.e. EE, ME, AE, CS) from an accredited institution and 0-3 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to execute test scripts, run test procedures, develop block diagrams, and collect data for post-test analysis and reporting.
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as individually without continuous direction (proactive).
- Excellent self-initiative and self-motivation.
- Superior organization, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to communicate and present technical details both written and verbally.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite of Office applications to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- US Citizenship Required; Ability to obtain an interim Secret Clearance prior to start date, and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance at the completion of the government's process.
- Able to travel to contractors' facilities, test sites, and other locations, CONUS and OCONUS, up to 25% of the time.
- Able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
- Education or experience in RF signal propagation, transmission, and reception theory, principles, concepts, and application.
- Education or experience in Electro-Optical concepts.
- Some engineering experience from internships, directed studies or regular employment.
- Good understanding of basic computer networking.
- Experience using engineering/development applications such as MATLAB, Simulink, LabVIEW, Satellite Tool Kit, Python and C#.
- Possess a current and active Secret security clearance.
