Electronic Technician
Aviation Ground Equipment Corp. is seeking a motivated, hands-on Electronic Technician to work and test Aviation Ground Support Power Systems and Electrical Load Simulation systems (Load Banks).
AGEC is an industry leader in the manufacturing and supply of ground support equipment (GSE) to global commercial and military customers and end users. AGEC operates two divisions, our OEM division designs and produces world-class GSE supporting a wide range of military aircraft platforms, on behalf of defense prime contractors and Government program offices. Our Commercial Division distributes a superior line of ground support equipment, parts, and service to global MRO, airline operators, Government agencies, and aviation end users.
What you will do:
- Assist in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.
- Assist in the design, construction, test, and check-out of test equipment
- Use manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment, including but not limited to, test programs, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and specialized test apparatus.
- Perform production tests to power conversion products following an Acceptance Test Procedure.
- Under limited supervision, determine the methods and sequence of operations required to perform the complete functional test of electromechanical systems and associated units by interpreting Engineering operating parameters, specifications, test procedures, and written and verbal technical instructions.
- Perform limited electronic or electro-mechanical production subassembly and assembly operations of a repetitive nature to build up and assemble routine units.
- May perform routine tasks in preparation for assembly.
- Assemble and/or install various electrical electronic components where operation and sequence are specified by blueprints, wire lists, diagrams or previously established shop practices.
- Use of AC/DC testing.
- May be asked to perform other duties as needed.
What you will need:
- Associate Degree in Electronics or equivalent electronics training from a technical school or military technical school. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
- At least 2 years’ previous experience working as an Electronics Technician.
- Must have experience working on electronic assemblies (as opposed to components).
- Experience in analog and/or power conversion products preferred.
- AC/DC experience with low and high voltage.
- Must be proficient in reading test requirements and accurately documenting test issues.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with an attention to detail.
- Knowledge of soldering techniques, color codes, and component identification.
- J – Standard certified preferred.
- Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment along with working independently.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Candidates are required to provide proof of US citizenship or Permanent US Residency.
- Travel required up to 15%.
