ELECTRONIC TECHNICIAN -PRETEST
M-F
7 am - 3:30 pm
**Effective w/e 11/25 all new starts for Boonton will have a 30% increase
to their base pay to cover Hubbells compensation package. Please inform the contractor that they will lose their 30% increase at conversion but will gain their benefits, including PTO and Holiday pay.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Apply electronic theory, principles of electrical circuits, electrical testing procedures, engineering, mathematics, and related procedures to test, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate digital and analog electronic circuit boards to the component level. May work with sales and design engineering to resolve technical problems. May set up standard test apparatus and run environmental tests. Analyzes and interprets test data. Adjusts, calibrates, aligns, and may modify circuitry and components. May write technical reports and test procedures. Communicates with internal and external customers. Reports to Production Supervisor.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Confirms correct operation of digital and analog electronic circuit boards.
Performs fault isolation function and repair items once fault is isolated.
Drafts and maintains test procedures and test documentation as required.
Follows approved board level test procedures and ensures correct equipment operation for a full range of self-manufactured and purchased product.
Participates in Source Inspections.
May perform other tasks as assigned by Supervision.
Occasional overtime will be required.
EDUCATION/SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Minimum of two-year degree in electronic technology or equivalent work experience; BSEE or BSCET preferred.
Must have strong skill set in digital and analog technology.
Must be an independent worker with good communication and organization skills.
Two years testing of digital and analog electronics equipment in a production environment helpful.
Ethernet level networking experience a plus.
