Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking skilled and qualified candidates for their Electronic Technician I position with the Postal CRF program located in Topeka, KS. The Electronic Technician works at the United States Postal Service (USPS) Central Repair Facility (CRF) in Topeka, KS. The CRF is a depot repair facility for USPS mail processing, delivery, and bulk mail systems repairable parts. Examples: repairing printed circuit boards, electrical, electronic, mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies to component level. The CRF provides depot level maintenance for essential automation, mechanization, retail and bulk mail processing systems used in all mail processing and retail installations.
Our electronic technicians apply working technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks in working on various types of electronic equipment. Job specific tasks include:
- Perform testing and repair of simple to medium complexity electronic and electromechanical equipment using common hand tools and test equipment (e.g., multimeters, power supplies, signal generators, frequency counters, and oscilloscopes, etc.)
- Diagnose and repair items to the component level using common hand tools and test equipment
- Follow instructions which cover virtually all procedures
- Receive technical guidance as required from supervisor or higher-level technicians
- Work is given detailed review when new or advanced assignments are involved
- Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Must have Formal electronics training from an accredited program or equivalent military training
- U.S. Citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Must have knowledge and ability to perform component level repairs on simple to medium complexity electronic/electromechanical items
- Understanding of basic troubleshooting techniques
- Solid state electronics, and digital and analog theory training
- Understanding of general test equipment
- Knowledge of schematic symbols, values and their meaning
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with handling of ESD sensitive items
- J-STD-001 certification
- ISCET Certified Electronic Technician (CET) certification
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Physical activity may include climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motion
- Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as viewing a computer terminal
- Visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection)
- Subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current
