Role Overview
Lead position for inspecting and testing SMT circuits in a fast paced environment. Rework as necessary. First article testing and validation.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, and rework if necessary, printed circuit boards and mounted components for compliance to IPC-610 standards
- Use various tools and equipment to test functional specifications
- Accurately repairing/removing and replacing SMT components at efficient production speed without damaging sensitive components and boards
- Solder components, wires, etc. onto circuit boards
- By soldering, using bare wire, join similar boards together
- Reads work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
- Performs on-line go/no-go testing and inspection, using visual magnifying devices, measuring instruments, and electronic test equipment, to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.
- Perform inspection operations under stereo microscope or other magnifying device for sustained periods.
- Rework, as necessary, boards and mounted components for compliance to IPC-610 standards.
Other Qualifications & Experience
- Good finger dexterity and good eye-hand coordination
- Must be able to read and write in English language and accurately perform basic math problems
- Surface Mount Technology (SMT) electronic component assembly
- IPC-610 training/certification
- Hot air rework station
- Pneumatic solder paste
- Electronic testing (DVM)
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience performing detailed inspection
- 2-3 years experience in hand placement and soldering in production
- Understand job packet documentation (routings and Bills of Materials)
- Basic electronic configuration recognition
- ESD protection knowledge
- Able to lift 25 lbs.
