The Leidos National Security Sector is seeking an experienced, Electro-Mechanical Technician to work in an arduous duty environment aboard government owned Ocean Surveillance Ships conducting Surveillance Towed Array Sensory System (SURTASS) operations at sea. Technicians will be on a 6 month on and 3 month off rotating mission, working in excess of 40-hours per week.
**Selected applicant can reside anywhere within the United States as long as he/she is flexible for deployments and travel.**

The Leidos National Security Sector is seeking an experienced, Electro-Mechanical Technician to work in an arduous duty environment aboard government owned Ocean Surveillance Ships conducting Surveillance Towed Array Sensory System (SURTASS) operations at sea. Technicians will be on a 6 month on and 3 month off rotating mission, working in excess of 40-hours per week.

As a member of the SURTASS team, you will be responsible for the following:
- Perform operations and maintenance of the Ship's Operation Center and Array Handling systems utilizing common and specialized tools, test equipment, manufacturer's manuals, schematic diagrams, and government procedures.
- Primary types of systems include high pressure hydraulic systems with pumps, motor-generator setups delivery power throughout the equipment, and a large winch for deploying and retrieval of equipment.
- Become qualified in Ship Operation Center and Array Operation positions and participate in the deployment and retrieval of Tow Arrayed evolutions and all other SURTASS operations.
- Assist supervisor and other program managers in compiling data, procedures, and manuals.
- Ensure proper maintenance of Logs and Records.
- May be assigned COMSEC, logistics, or safety collateral duties.
- Required to participate in Leidos and Government Compliance Training programs.
- Share common spaces over lengthy deployment periods and work closely with others in a small working area and in a shipboard environment.
- This position requires close cooperation and working relationships with active-duty military, contractors, and government personnel.
Basic Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited electrical or mechanical systems trade school or apprenticeship program, or US Navy mechanical program.
- Have at least 3 years of maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and heating and air conditioning systems.
- Applicants should have knowledge and hands-on experience in a majority of the following areas:
- Diagnosing and resolving electrical and hydraulic issues.
- Basic mechanical maintenance to oil systems.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems.
- Understanding electrical and mechanical technical drawings.
- Proficient with personal computers and have a familiarity with operational, schematics, and maintenance publications.
- Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrate ability to perform assigned taskings.
- Obtain valid U.S. passport in an expeditious manner.
- Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Ability to obtain and maintain company provided travel charge cards.
- Must be capable of passing a Mariner's Physical per COMSCINST 6000.l.c and maintain their medical fitness for this position.
- Secret Clearance required to start and ability to complete government background investigation and meet eligibility requirements to obtain Top Clearance.

- SURTASS program background
- Background in EKMS/COMSEC
- Super High Frequency (SHF) experience
