Position Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Electro-Mechanical Technician to join our team in Neenah, WI. This role involves the assembly of electrical control panels and cabinets, machine wiring, and assisting with machine troubleshooting and startup in accordance with schematics, drawings, and engineering specifications.
The ideal candidate will combine strong electrical expertise, mechanical aptitude, and exceptional attention to detail. This position offers the chance to collaborate closely with Electrical Engineers, the Electrical Assembly Manager, and the Assembly Manager to build high-quality equipment while meeting production deadlines. A problem-solving mindset and a team-oriented attitude are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble and wire electrical control panels following electrical schematics.
- Perform machine wiring based on drawings and schematics, including sensor alignment and cable routing.
- Conduct mechanical tasks, such as attaching enclosures, punching holes in cabinets, and drilling/tapping conveyor holes.
- Install conduits, wire-ways, and other raceways.
- Assist engineers with system testing, troubleshooting, and startup.
- Submit accurate weekly timesheets documenting work performed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to workplace safety standards and company policies.
- Take on additional duties as assigned and adapt to changing production needs.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and Bills of Materials.
- Knowledge of AC/DC control circuits and 3-phase motor control.
- 3+ years of experience in industrial control panel assembly and equipment wiring.
- Skilled with tools such as wire cutters, crimpers, soldering irons, pneumatic tools, and multimeters.
- Familiarity with electrical control components (e.g., breakers, relays, timers).
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or general labor industries.
- Strong communication skills and general math skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, adapt to priorities, and work independently as well as part of a team.
- Customer service-oriented and equipped with basic hand tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology.
- Experience in the conveyor industry.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Capability to bend, kneel, sit, and stand for extended periods.
- Work at heights and in confined spaces as needed.
- Exposure to moderate noise, dust, and material handling equipment (personal protective equipment may be required).
