Electrician Job Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of skilled work demanding a high degree of manual and technical competency required for the repair, maintenance, installation and modernization of electrical systems of various voltages (12V – 480V) for buildings, equipment and grounds.
- Create, read, and edit electrical/instrument wiring diagrams using computer software intended for the task.
- Train and educate operators and mechanics in the basics of electrical safety, troubleshooting and repair.
- Test electrical equipment such as motors, heater and controls for safety and efficiency by using standard test equipment and observing functions.
- Install fixtures, wiring, conduit, motors and other electrical equipment. Inspect circuits regularly.
- Work closely with Water Supply supervisory staff to determine work priorities and required capital improvement of electrical systems and equipment.
- Review and become familiar with plans and manuals for all water treatment plants and pump stations owned or operated by the company which involves the main water treatment plant facility and approximately 60 other facilities of varying levels of complexity.
Qualifications:
- Three (3) to five (5) years of related experience in similar electrician function.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills for electrical installation, maintenance, and report of electrical systems and equipment.
