Mechanical Engineer/Project Manager - North Canton, Ohio - JOB 24-00372

Salary Range: 70K - 85K Permanent Position with Benefits

Growing manufacturing company is looking to hire a Project Manager to design and build conveying and bulk material handling systems

Responsibilities:

• Applicant must have a good understanding of bulk material conveying equipment and mechanical design. This includes understanding the electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of the design, so as to be able to create concept drawings as well as final drawings.
• This work includes: cost estimates, schedules, ordering parts, etc. to manage a project from the conceptual stage to the commissioning of the equipment.
• Develop design concept and final drawings with AutoCAD or SolidWorks for bulk materials handling solutions to meet a specific client's needs.
• Possible travel to client's job sites to gather required information for quoting and managing all aspects of the project installation and commissioning equipment.
• Evaluate structural steel requirements in preliminary design of conveyor trusses, galleries, supports, transfer towers, platforms, stairs, chutes, hoppers, etc., in order to accurately estimate costs for fabrications.
• Communicate with other company departments and with fabricators and vendors to manage the costs and schedule for projects.
• Interface professionally with clients, vendors and subcontractors to define and clarify project specifications and designs, keeping everyone informed of all project processes.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• 4-year college degree in mechanical or civil engineering preferred. Minimum 2-year Associates degree with 2 years of experience in comparable industrial design work.
• Some experience in structural analysis
• Proficiency in AutoCAD drafting software required.
• Experience with SolidWorks 3-D modeling software beneficial.
• General understanding of bulk materials handling equipment such as belt conveyors,
• drag conveyors, hoppers, bins, crushers, feeders, screens, belt scales, etc., as well as components such as pulleys, motors, drives, couplings, bearings and safety devices is highly preferred.

Candidates are required to pass a Criminal Background Check and a 10 Panel Drug Screen.
