Electrician I - Texas Children's Hospital

We're looking for an Electrician I, someone who's ready to grow with our company. In this position, you will perform demand and scheduled preventive maintenance of the facility equipment to include Electrical and associated systems in accordance with departmental, hospital and regulatory agency codes. Specific duties include maintaining facilities and equipment in hospital or clinic environments.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs for electrical and associated systems and equipment to ensure a safe environment and operational reliability according to standards established by the management team.
• Performs inspections, maintenance, and repairs to facilities to provide a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
• Performs repairs to failed equipment according to established standards and within acceptable timeframes.
• Provides notification of equipment shutdowns to appropriate leadership, departmental personnel, and Service Response Center Operators.
• Maintains documentation to accurately record equipment problems and failures, including work order completeness.
• Reports major failures and equipment malfunctions to Manager
• Assists with, oversees and/or inspects repairs or modifications performed by contractors.
• Demonstrates ability to perform electrical skill sets.
• Demonstrates ability to perform Unit 200 Duties as required to successfully complete the Unit 200 Competency checklist:
o 1. Demonstrate knowledge of fire alarm response.
o 2. Demonstrate knowledge of Incident Management Team (IMT) response.
o 3. Demonstrate knowledge of Response to Utility losses.
o 4. Demonstrate the ability to respond to an elevator emergency.
o 5. Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with leadership.
• Perform troubleshooting and problem-solving maintenance duties for electrical and associated systems and equipment according to standards established by the management team.
• Demonstrate technical knowledge depth for electrical and associated systems according to standards established by the management team.
• Demonstrates work product meets the expected criteria.
• Demonstrate accountability for customer service and professional behavior through personal work ethic and teamwork.
• Demonstrate accountability for effective communication skills.

Skills & Requirements
• Required H.S. Diploma or equivalent
• Required APPR ELE - Apprentice Electrician State of Texas
• Required 3 years of experience as an electrical service-related technician with preferred Hospital experience, High-rise electrical systems experience, and Mechanical systems experienceTexas Children's first health care location in Austin, Texas Children's Urgent Care West Gate, opened in March 2018, providing high quality pediatric-focused care after hours and on weekends.
