Position Summary:Under general direction, performs journeyman electrician level and leadwork duties in the technical operation, maintenance and repair of electrical generating equipment, fire and smoke detection system, HVAC, and Building Automation systems, & auxiliary systems facility wide along with various general maintenance related tasks including plumbing, painting, trades and grounds keeping. With support of Engineering staff, will direct team on electrical projects in all buildings.
This role pays an hourly rate of $30 to $36.

About the Venue:Oak View Group is the venue manager and food and beverage provider at the SoFi Center, a first-of-its-kind venue located in Palm Beach Gardens, FL on the campus of Palm Beach State College. SoFi Center will be the home of the TGL Golf League, founded by Mike McCarley, Tiger Woods and Rory Mcllroy, TGL presented by SoFi is a new golf league, combining advanced technology with teams of top players from the PGA TOUR for two-hour weekly competitions in prime time starting in January 2025. The arena will seat about 1,500 people and featured matches between 6 teams for the inaugural season.
Responsibilities:- Clearly, effectively and timely communicate work issues with staff
- Routinely test and maintain emergency generator and lighting
- Responsible for maintenance on venue lighting fixtures - including upgrades and replacements
- Installs and maintains show power for arena power distribution
- Maintain all electric cords, and other equipment
- Maintain clearance around electric panels, transformers, etc.
- Train Engineering team as needed for electrical event needs
- Provide excellent customer service assistance to all internal and external clients
- Operate, configure, program zones/ groups, create reports on Square D Power Link/ Power Logic system
- Repair, install, replace and test electrical circuits, equipment and appliances using necessary hand tools and testing instruments.
- Isolate defects in wiring, switches, motors and other electrical equipment, using suitable testing instruments.
- Examine and test elements of electrical systems to locate obvious faults, such as blown fuses, short circuits, broken wires, loose connections, and worn motor brushes.
- Replace faulty switches, sockets, plugs, fuses, insulators, and other simple elements of electrical systems, fixtures and appliances.
- Perform and/or manage the installations and break downs of electrical services for events.
- Perform duties and responsibilities with view toward facility goals and energy conservation.
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, shop drawings, schematic manufacturer’s specifications and other reference materials to determine appropriate job requirements and procedures.
- Prepare and submit requisitions for materials required to complete assigned tasks.
- Plan work to ensure cost effective use of labor and materials.
- As required, estimate materials needed and record time and materials expended on each work order.
- Perform other general maintenance related tasks including plumbing, painting, trades and grounds keeping.
- Operate equipment used in the maintenance of arena facilities such as forklifts, floor scrubbers, scissor lifts, and other maintenance equipment.
- Establish and maintain cooperative-working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Must possess High School diploma, GED or equivalent
- Completed 5 Year Electrical Apprentice school
- Licensed Journeyman Electrical; Master Electrician License highly desirable
- Demonstrated experience with maintenance and repair of electrical power generating equipment and auxiliary highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Possession of, or ability to obtain a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to report for emergencies as needed
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in the English language, both orally and in writing
- Must have open availability to work long hours, nights, weekends and holidays.
